Checking connection status
This page describes how to create workflows for checking connection statuses between your LinkedIn account and other people.
Each example below has its Node SDK call in the Node tab, and the label over each completion says what that call returns.
Each example below has its Python SDK call in the Python tab, and the label over each completion says what that call returns.
Each example below has its CLI command in the CLI tab, and the label over each completion says what the command prints.
💡 Waiting for people to accept your invitations? Do not re-check their status every day – enable network monitoring once and receive a
connectionAcceptedevent when each of them accepts.
Single person check
To check the connection status between your account and another person, you need to include st.checkConnectionStatus action in your workflow. Here's an example:
Workflow:
{
"actionType": "st.checkConnectionStatus",
"personUrl": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/person1"
}Completion:
Completion – result() returns its data in data, and a failed action in errors:
Completion – with --json the CLI prints its data as data, or the action's error:
{
"actionType": "st.checkConnectionStatus",
"success": true,
"data": {
"connectionStatus": "pending"
}
}Multiple people check
To check the connection statuses between your account and several people, you need to use st.checkConnectionStatus multiple times. Here's an example:
Workflow:
[
{
"actionType": "st.checkConnectionStatus",
"label": "person1",
"personUrl": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/person1"
},
{
"actionType": "st.checkConnectionStatus",
"label": "person2",
"personUrl": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/person2"
},
{
"actionType": "st.checkConnectionStatus",
"label": "person3",
"personUrl": "https://www.linkedin.com/in/person3"
}
]Completion:
Completion – result() returns this whole completion in data:
Completion – linkedin workflow run prints this whole completion as data:
[
{
"actionType": "st.checkConnectionStatus",
"label": "person1",
"success": true,
"data": {
"connectionStatus": "connected"
}
},
{
"actionType": "st.checkConnectionStatus",
"label": "person2",
"success": true,
"data": {
"connectionStatus": "pending"
}
},
{
"actionType": "st.checkConnectionStatus",
"label": "person3",
"success": true,
"data": {
"connectionStatus": "notConnected"
}
}
]💡 Use this approach for multiple checks as it's significantly faster than creating separate workflows for each person.
